Chelsea and Fulham: Mona Crocker

MONA CROCKER SQUARE

'My background is in the visual arts.  I attended St Martin’s School of Art where I completed a BA in Fine Art in 1990, and then went on to do a Masters in Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art.  Over the subsequent 15 years, my artistic practice took me on a global journey, exhibiting in venues across London, New York, Italy, and China. This immersive experience in the arts instilled in me a deep-seated curiosity about the human psyche and our interaction with the world around us.  In 2000, wanting to explore beyond my internal dialogue and the confines of my studio, I started a business in Architectural Design and development with my husband.  In 2004 we moved to the south of France where we lived for 17 years, and where our son was born.  Living abroad afforded me invaluable insights into the challenges of integration and the universal quest for connection across linguistic and cultural divides. Witnessing firsthand the nuances of a different political system, I developed an  understanding of governance and the potential for cross-cultural exchange. My time in France cultivated a keen awareness of the complexities inherent in societal structures and a commitment to harnessing the best practices from diverse cultures to enrich our own. As a parliamentary candidate, I bring a unique perspective shaped by my multifaceted and multi-cultural experiences with a dedication to fostering inclusive policies that honour our shared humanity and collective progress.

I believe our nation is in crisis, threatening our core values of good governance, social welfare, and tolerance. I'm driven by a duty to uphold fairness and balance between collective and individual needs. The Green Party's manifesto offers solutions to societal inequalities, and I'm dedicated to leading the charge for policy reform. It's evident that current governance is failing, and we need a new direction. The climate crisis provides an opportunity for change towards economic sustainability, social justice, and environmental stewardship. As a parliamentary candidate, I'm committed to championing this vision for a better future.
